KT Tunstall - Komedia

Well, she was okay. She does have a good voice, but too many of the songs just sounded the same and there was not enough light and shade / use of different arrangements. Felt very like the audience was not the kind that go to many gigs and their response was completely over the top - you can see people just as good as this almost any night of the week if you look.

Can't say I'm familiar with his work!

I'm on the Spangles mailing list, Vic - and I just got a message saying the gig is cancelled. Apparently Bobby's drummer, Big Al 'Suspenders' Carmichael sustained knee ligament damage at the 'Free Jonathan King' festival in Hastings, so they've had to pull out.

I'm hoping they re-schedule.

You know Bobby Spangles, Pete! He was the bassist and harmonica player in legendary Eastbourne quintet The Water Buffalos? Him and his brother (and percussionist) Arnold Spangles went solo three or four years back, before Arnold's accident. Bobby doesn't record anymore, having taken a vow of silence on his brother's death, but his gigs remain legendary on the folk-hop circuit.
