The Life Aquatic
Well, what a strange film The Life Aquatic is, but hugely enjoyable. With Bill Murray in a bobble hat you can't really go wrong, but it's all the little incidental touches which really work. Probably a bit too long, the film was in danger of outstaying its welcome, but great fun nonetheless.

I dunno, it didn't really ring true for me, it was more of an extended riff, too understated. It made me think of one of those ensemble comedy films like Comic Strip, where we know the people are funny and the overall concept is funny but we don't actually spot many jokes in the process. And you never care for any of them, despite predictably excellent performances from Owen Wilson and Bill Murray. I was disappointed with it.
